Description: Irreverent. Irresponsible. Insatiable. Who says immortals can't have any fun?

The year is 3048, Earth is no longer habitable, and man has fled to the stars where they’ve discovered the secret of immortality—Meridian. Unfortunately, the radioactive mineral is exorbitantly expensive and only available to a select few. A new class comprised of the super rich and immortal soon evolves. The Collective, as they’re called, rule the universe.

Two-thousand-year-old Ricardo Sanchez, vampire and rogue pilot of the space cruiser, El Cazador, can’t resist two things: gorgeous women and impossible jobs. When beautiful Skylar Rossaria approaches him to break a prisoner out of the Collective’s maximum security prison on Trakis One, Rico jumps at the chance. Being hunted by the Collective has never been so dangerous–or so fun!

Review: Nina Croft’s Break Out spins a vampire, space, and romance into a sexy fun-filled ride that sure to please.

Rico Sanchez is a vampire who seeks out beautiful women and dangerous tasks, and he finds both in Skylar Rossaria. She commissions his crew and him to break out a prisoner. It sounds simple, but no one has escaped Trakis One before and they only have one shot to get it right, if Rico and Skylar can ignore their sexual chemistry long enough to come up with the perfect plan.

Break Out throws the reader into the action, but slows to a seductive tango between Rico and Skylar as they feel each other out—literally and figuratively. Their steamy chemistry can’t be denied. Croft knows when to draw out the tension in her scenes. I loved the mystery surrounded Skylar and what she was hiding from the others. The action rushes forward at the end with the actual prison break. Croft places hints like sweet kisses throughout this novella of the complex world she created. A sprinkling of humor had me smiling. The characters and their emotions build layer upon layer as the story continues. Croft leaves the reader wanting more and gives a taste of what may come in book two.

If you want a sexy romp in space with added substance, then look no further than Nina Croft’s Break Out.
