Review: Jenn Nixon's Chance of a Storm is a sequel that surpasses the first.

Mason Storm hadn't heard from Veronica Chance in ninety-seven very long days. When her sister calls, he's on the first plane to California where he joined the Chance family, much to Veronica's father's dismay, in a search for Veronica's kidnapped mother. While passion is rekindled between Mason and Veronica, the suspense builds in more ways than one as they delve into their possible love for each other and who kidnapped her mother.

Chance of a Storm starts with a gust of wind, and it's just the beginning of this torrential paced novella. The suspense remains high with the various kidnappings and government secrets. The romance is steamy, passionate, but also sweet as Mason and Veronica have a chance to explore their feelings besides just each other's bodies. I enjoyed the depth of the characters and storyline. It's rare for a sequel to be better than the first, but Chance of a Storm is.

The first novella, Wild and Wicked, is definitely that, but Jenn Nixon's Chance of a Storm whips up a tempest of suspense and romance that's sure to please.
