Description: Best-selling author Bronwyn Chase never quite fit in with the 21st century. On a publicity trip to New York City, a mysterious woman claiming to be a mystic from Bronwyn’s past gives her a silver knights spur. Asked to save Euric, a man she never knew existed, Bronwyn finds herself transported to 12th-century Cornwall. Landing at the feet of an entranced Euric, she discovers the instant connection she feels to him comes from a midsummer rite gone horribly awry on the eve of her birth. Forced to face a dark wicce who plans to use Euric for her own nefarious ends, Bronwyn summons her own mystical birthright to free him.

Review: Romance and magic intertwine in Candace Bowen Early’s Spur of the Moment.

When best-selling historical romance author Bronwyn Chase meets a mysterious mystic from the past, Browyn’s life changes on the spin of a knight’s spur. She is transported to 12th-century Cornwall, where she discovers she’s fated to love a knight named Euric. There’s one problem. He’s under a curse from a dark witch. Bronwyn must call upon her own mystical birthright to find a way to free him, or else.

Spur of the Moment shows how soul mates can withstand the fates, distance, and time. The plot is well-developed and has a beautiful circularity to it. The hints at the historical along with our own modern age add to this fantasy romance. The mysticism and magic intrigue and delight in their elements of old traditions and religions. The characters can be beautiful, stubborn, unyielding, and magical. I enjoyed the fast-paced and fated romance between Bronwyn and Euric, although I wish we could’ve savored their romance a bit more. Early does a fantastic job at making the reader ache along with Bronwyn when everything changes for her again. The first part of the novel is a bit too fast at times, but the second half is perfect.

For a beautiful romance with a touch of the historical and fantasy read Spur of the Moment by Candace Bowen Early. It’ll sweep you away to a magical world with the spin of a spur and the flash of a moment.
