Book Bloggers & Publishers Online Conference Books

A couple weeks ago, I attended the Book Bloggers & Publishers Online Conference. I met so many great new book bloggers out there, and I'm still listening to the audios from the conference panels. It was amazing, and I hope to attended next year too.

One of the things about the conference is publishers donate books for the book bloggers. That's right. I got some great books yesterday. Although it is unnecessary to review them, I do plan to read and review. Some include not yet published ARCs.

These books include:

Title: Betrayal
Series: Haunting Emma, book 2
Author: Lee Nichols
Publisher: Bloomsbury USA Children's Books
Type: Advanced Reader Copy
Published Date: 3/1/2011

Description from Goodreads: Emma Vaile is the most powerful ghostkeeper in centuries. Which is great when she's battling the wraith-master Neos, but terrible when she's flirting with fellow ghostkeeper (and soul mate) Bennett. When ghostkeepers fall in love, the weaker one loses all power, and that's not something Bennett can handle. Heartbroken and alone, Emma tries to lose herself in school with fellow ghostkeeper, Natalie. When a new team of ghostkeepers arrive-one a snarky teen boy, the other a British scholar-Emma finds solace in training for the battle against Neos. But they thought was good.as the team grows stronger, they are threatened by an unknown force. One they thought was good. As chilling and page-turning as Deception, this sequel will grab readers and hold them to the last page. No one is safe from suspicion as Emma closes in on the traitor.

Title: Sean Griswold's Head
Author: Lindsey Leavitt
Publisher: Bloomsbury USA Children's Books
Type: Advanced Reader Copy
Published Date: 3/1/2011

Description from Goodreads: According to her guidance counselor, fifteen-year-old Payton Gritas needs a focus object-an item to concentrate her emotions on. It's supposed to be something inanimate, but Payton decides to use the thing she stares at during class: Sean Griswold's head. They've been linked since third grade (Griswold-Gritas-it's an alphabetical order thing), but she's never really known him.

The focus object is intended to help Payton deal with her father's newly diagnosed multiple sclerosis. And it's working. With the help of her boy-crazy best friend Jac, Payton starts stalking-er, focusing on-Sean Griswold . . . all of him! He's cute, he shares her Seinfeld obsession (nobody else gets it!) and he may have a secret or two of his own.

In this sweet story of first love, Lindsey Leavitt seamlessly balances heartfelt family moments, spot-on sarcastic humor, and a budding young romance.

So, thank you, Bloomsbury, Walker Books, and Walnut Springs Press, for these books. I'm looking forward to reading them.

And, if you notice, I received two ARCs of Tracy Deebs' Tempest Rising. Within the next couple weeks, I'll have a giveaway, and you can win your own copy of it. So stay tuned.
